Mint / Pudina has plenty of health benefits. It is a mouth and breath freshener, relieves respiratory congestions, is a natural stimulant when you are  sluggish, anxious or exhausted, makes us alert by helping us in memory retention.
Combine this wonderful herb Mint in your everyday diet, atleast 3-4 times a week, and it will do wonders.


Ingredients
Mint - 1 bunch, stems removed and cleaned (roughly 1 1/2 - 2 cups)
Pearl onions - 10, halved
Tomato - 1, chopped
Green chillies - 2 Red chillies - 3
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Split urad dhal - 2 tsps
Tamarind paste - 1 tsp
Grated or chopped coconut - 3/4 cup
Fried gram dhal - 1/2 cup
Hing powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Cooking oil - 2 tsps
Salt to taste

Prep time:L 10 mts; Cooking time: 10 mts

Serves 6   

                Pan heated, cooking oil added and mustard seeds, hing powder and red chillies added

Add the onions and green chillies and keep sauteeing



After the onions turn translucent, add the tomatoes and green chillies too. Let the tomatoes become a bit mushy

Now, add the washed and cleaned pudina leaves


Add salt, keep sauteeing


After the mint leaves become shrunk and seem to be fully cooked, switch off, add the coconut and fried gram dhal also, mix well.


Allow the above sauted mixture to cool down, grind well, and serve with Oats dosas or rava dosas
