You  have an uncontrollable urge to eat pizza.....at the same time, you are against eating the pizza base made out of refined flour......Oh...oh.... what to do???
Here is a very healthy pizza, made with wheat bread slices, with lots and lots of veggies, less  cheese, but not at all deficient or inadequate in its unique flavors!!!! Enjoy this easy pizza, which can be made in a jiffy.

Ingredients
Whole wheat bread slices - 8
Olive oil - 2 tsps
Garlic - 6 pods, finely chopped
Onion - 1, big, thinly sliced
Carrot - 1, thin julienned
Yellow bell pepper - 1, thinly cut into strips
Green bell pepper - 1, thinly cut into strips
Baby corns - 10-12, thinly cut lengthwise
Black olives - 1 small tin
Chilli flakes - 1 tsp
Pepper powder - 3/4 tsp
Italian seasonings - 1 1/2 tsps
Tomato ketchup - 4 tbsps
Salt to taste
Processed cheese - 3 cubes, grated

Recipe Cuisine: Continental; Category: Lunch / dinner
Prep time: 10 mts; Cooking time: till the cheese melts

Yields 8 pizzas

All vegetables neatly cut and kept ready

Olive oil heated up in a pan, then garlic added. Wait till garlic becomes almost dark brown, then add the onions, give a quick saute, then add all the veggies. These have to be sauteed on high flames, to make them soft , at the same time, crunchy

Chilli flakes, pepper powder, salt added and mixed well
Tomato ketchup added, and mixed well

Preheat oven to 220 degrees celsius for 10 minutes, in the meantime, arrange 4 bread slices on a slightly greased tray, arrange a layer of veggies on the slices,

Few olives sprinkled here and there, then topped with grated cheese, and the tray is shoved into the oven.
Wait till the cheese melts, by now, the bread slices would have become crisp and nice.

Wow!!! doesn't it make your mouth water??? Serve hot with some tomato ketchup.

Notes
*Red bell pepper also can be added. It was not available in any store that day. Hence my omission.
*Mozarella cheese can be used too. Also, the quantity of cheese can be amplified and broadened,  according to your likes
*Instead of making a layer of pizza sauce, then topping up the veggies, I combined both and layered them together, on the bread slices.
*An ideal snack from hungry kids returning from school!!!

  1. Drool!!! What a fantastic alternative for pizza. Instead of an unhealthy one, this bread pizza is welcome change. It does not , lack anything from the original ones. Infact the added veggies make it more appealing! And easily made at home to quench the hunger pangs!! Very nice
