Sweet Potato..........has only truth in half its name...it is sweet...but doesn't belong to potato family. Oh, let's forget all that..what is inside the sweet potato...that's what matters and counts. They provide carbs which are very low on glycemic index and are better for diabetes control, have  lot of fiber, reduce heart disease, relieve constipation, keep cancers at bay, an absolute prize for the eyes and prevent degenerative damage to the eyes, full of iron, promote fertility, in one word.....sweet potatoes must be included in our  diet frequently.
Another great recipe from my daughter's kitchen......totally healthy and guilt-free....
golden hued, crispy fries, but not fried ...baked...so, eat to your heart's content...
Please look into my Glossary for any unknown terms.
A set of my recipes were published in yesterday's Magalirmani, a leading News paper. And here is the link for it

Mala's Video

Peeled, cut into strips and dropped in water
All the spices

Smear everything mixed together(except brown sugar) and allow to rest for 10 minutes as a marinade

Arrange on a greased baking tray, taking care not to overlap them or one another sticking to each other. Arrange them with gap in between

Bake in a preheated oven at 450degrees F (250 degrees C) for 20-25 minutes, till they become crisp and well roasted. If need be, after 12-13 minutes, you can flip them over. Little bit of brown sugar, to be sprinkled, when the sweet potato fries are nearing completion. This sprinkling helps to give a caramelized look to the fries.

Why do we need potato french fries...when such a healthy starter is awaiting us???

Serve with tomato ketchup or the one shown here in picture is eggless mayo mixed with some sriracha sauce(any  hot and spicy chilli sauce can be mixed with vegan mayo, if sriracha sauce is not available)

Notes
*Omit the brown sugar, if you don't like that tinge of sweetness in the fries.
