Cracked wheat, which is called Samba Rava in Tamil, and Dalia in Hindi, has numerous health benefits, since it possesses outer bran and germ of the wheat too. Is an excellent source of fiber, has no saturated fat or cholesterol. Is good for diabetics.
This method given down below, is a super fast method, no preparation is needed, exactly in 10 minutes, all done. So, when you have guests suddenly, this is an ideal dish. I see to it that Samba Rava is in stock at home always.

In a pressure pan, add cooking oil, and season all the ingredients mentioned above.
Then add the rava, and roast for 2 minutes.
Add salt and coconut.
Pour the measured water.
Close the cooker, and allow 2 long or 3 short whistles. Switch off. Wait till the pressure releases.
Nothing sticks to the bottom, it comes out so clean!
Fluff it up with a fork. Drizzle a spoon of ghee for aroma and taste.
Serve with chutney, sambar or even plain curds will taste great with this upma.
Super technique of cooking in pressure pan. Looks great. Will try for weekend breakfast.
