This is a spicy Chutney, goes along with Dosas, idlis and especially, parathas. You can call it a three-in-one chutney. You  can increase or decrease the spice level  in it according to your taste. This time, I made it as a combo for Aloo Parathas, and it was perfect and yum!

Ingredients
Onions -2, chopped
Tomatoes -6, chopped
Garlic - 2-3 pods
Tamarind paste - 1/2 tsp
Green chillies - 2
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Split Urad dhal - 3 tsps
Red Chillies - 3
Hing powder - 1/4 tsp
Cooking oil - 3tsps
Salt to taste

Recipe Cuisine : South Indian; Category: Breakfast/Chutney Varieties
Prep time: 15mts; Cooking time: 15mts

Serves 6
Add oil in a pan, add all the seasonings, green and red chillies

After the seasonings turn golden, add onions and garlic, continue sauteeing till onions become translucent.

                                                            Add tamarind paste too.

Add chopped tomatoes, and also salt.

Allow the tomatoes to get cooked and become mushy.

Grind in a blender after it cools down. Always, while grinding tomatoes, take care to cool down fully. Otherwise, it will splash all over everywhere.
