                                                   NAVARATHRI - DAY 6   

Red Karamani, also known as black eyed red chickpeas ...is highly nutritious. Very low in fat, cholesterol and sodium, , high in dietary fiber, is a very good source of protein. Is rich in Thiamin, Iron, Copper and Manganese. This sundal is very tasty.No need to soak overnight, so, sometimes when we forget to soak overnight, these come very handy. It is enough, if they are soaked for 2-3 hours in boiling hot water.


Ingredients
Red Karamani - 1/2 cup, soaked in hot water for 3 hours
Salt to taste

To season
Cooking oil - 2 tsps
Hing powder - 1/4 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Green chillies - 3, chopped fine
Red chillies - 3 , broken
Currylaves
Grated coconut - 2 tsps
Curry leaves

Prep time: 10 mts; Cooking time: 5 mts

Serves 3-4

Soaked red karamani, pressure cooked. Salt added on top.



                                           Seasoning ingredients, as mentioned above

Add cooking oil in a pan, when it is ready, season all the ingredients



                                                Now add the cooked red karamani


Mix well and serve.
