This is the fastest and easiest dhal one can ever make, not much of spices, but amazing taste and flavour, and a perfect combo for rotis and aloo methi curry.

Ingredients
Split Moong dhal -1/2 - 3/4 cup,  soaked with turmeric powder for 1/2 hour in hot water
Tomato - 1, very finely chopped
Sambar powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Lemon juice - 2 tsps

For seasoning
Ghee - 2 tsps
Jeera - 1 tsp
Slit green chillies - 2

Recipe Cuisine: North Indian; Recipe Category: side dish /Lunch
Prep time: 10mts; Cooking time: 15 mts
Serves 4

Moong dhal, pressure cooked with sambar powder, turmeric powder and tomato. There is a technique....first heat up the dhal, when it is about to boil, stir well, then bring the flames to the lowest, put the whistle, and let it cook for 10 minutes. It might give out 2 whistles. This way, there is no spillage outside the lid, no getting burnt at the bottom.Salt added later.

Seasonings done, lemon juice added. Adjust the consistency by adding hot water. Never add cold water, it makes the flavours dip. Just the tiny bits of tomatoes, green chillies, jeera and lemon juice.....just these 4 ingredients.....but once you make this dhal, this will be a repeated dish in your kitchen.

Serve with chapathies, aloo methi curry and this wonderful Dhal.

    1. Hi Akila, the quantity is 1/2-3/4 cup. If you need more kaaram, please add 2 more green chillies.
