If  jaggery, which is high in fibre,  is combined with anything...should I tell how tasty it will turn out to be!!! and being Lord Krishna's favourite, it will be a favourite of one and all, I hope. This is such a simple sweet, but very delicious.

Poha / Flat rice / Aval - 1/2 cup
Jaggery - 1/2 cup
Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
Fresh grated coconut - 2 tsps
Ghee - 2 tsps
Broken cashews - 5-6

Recipe Cuisine: South Indian; Category: Festival delicacy, Sweets
Prep time: 1 hour; Cooking time: 10 mts

Serves 2

Poha soaked in hotwater, poured to immerse, for 1 hour

The soaked poha after an hour

Pour 1/4 cup water to jaggery in a pan, after the jaggery melts.....

check for impurities by straining

Add cardamom powder and fresh coconut, and  allow to boil till it becomes thick.

Then add the soaked poha and keep on stirring, adding 1 tsp of ghee.

in 5 minutes, it will become thick like this and leave the sides. Switch off at this point. When it cools down a bit, it will become thicker,

In another tsp ghee, roast the cashews and add to the poha.

Sweet Poha is ready too!!

In Purandara Dasa's words, I am also calling..... Krishna nee begane baaro!! (Krishna, please come soon!)
