                                                       NAVARATHRI DAY - 3

This is a very very nutritious Sundal, packed with high proteins. Peanuts are supposed to reduce heart diseases, lower cholesterol, a handful of peanuts atleast thrice a week, keeps us healthy.


Peanuts - 1/2 cup, soaked overnight and pressure cooked
Salt to taste

To season
Cooking oil - 2 tsps
Hing powder - 1/4 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Green chillies - 3
Red chillies - 2
Curry leaves

Recipe Cuisine: South Indian; Category: Festival delicacy/ snack
Prep time: 5 mts; Cooking time: 20 mts; (15 minutes to pressure cook peanuts, 5 mts to season)

Serves 4

Peanuts pressure cooked, salt added and mixed

All the seasoning ingredients mentioned above, with cooking oil in the pan

Cooked peanuts added, and sauteed on low flames, till the little bit water in it gets evaporated.

Sundal ready!!


* 1/2 tsp lemon juice can be added, which is purely optional.
*You can dry roast 3/4 tsp channa dhal, 3/4 tsp coriander seeds and 2 red chillies, coarsely powder them and add too. This gives an additional flavour to the sundal.
