SLOPPY JOE is a sandwich kind, vegetables, beans and some sauces and spices served between burger buns....this again is my d-i-l's recipe, and as usual, she has made it healthier by adding some kale to it, and also she has used whole wheat burger buns.

Ingredients
Whole wheat burger buns 6
Onion - 1, chopped very fine
Garlic - 8 pods, chopped very fine
Green bell pepper - 1, chopped fine
Tomatoes - 4, pureed
Tomato ketchup - 1/2 cup
Red kidney beans / rajma - 3 cups(cans or soaked and cooked ones)
Kale - 4 cups, well washed and chopped
Spring onions - a few to garnish
Chilli powder - 2 tsps
Garlic powder - 2 tsps
Onion powder - 2 tsps
Molasses - 2 tbsps (or, add brown sugar)
Mustard paste - 2 tsps
White pepper powder - 1 tsp
Fresh lemon juice - 2 tsps
Salt to taste
Olive oil - 2 tsps
Melted butter to brush the buns
Salt to taste

Serves 6 Sloppy Joes
Heat up the olive oil in the pan, add garlic, onions and bell peppers, saute well on slow flames
Chilli, garlic, onion, white pepper powders added
The finely chopped kale leaves also added
Add salt
Now go in the tomato puree, ketchup, molasses and mustard paste
Mix well and allow to simmer, add some fresh lemon juice also now
Now add the red kidney beans
Brush the inner sides of the buns with some melted butter, and toast them crisp and golden just on the inner sides .............
and keep them aside
We can serve the buns and the above curry as a side too
Or, keep the curry on a single slice and serve............
sandwich between 2 burger buns and serve
