                                                           NAVARATHRI - DAY 7

This is  a very tasty Sundal...does not require over night soaking...but incase you want to, you can. But normally, it is sufficient if you soak channa dhal in hot water for 3-4 hours.

Ingredients
Channa dhal - 1/2 cup, soaked in hot water for 3-4 hours, then pressure cooked
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp

To season
Cooking oil - 2 tsps
Hing powder - 1/4 tsp
Mustard seeds - 3/4 tsp
Green chillies - 4, chopped
Red chillies - 3, broken
Curry leaves
Fresh grated coconut - 3 tsps

Recipe Cuisine: South Indian; Category: Snacks/ Neivedhyams
Prep time: 5 mts, other than soaking time; Cooking time: 15 mts

Serves 3-4

Pressure cooked channa dhal, with turmeric powder, coconut topped then

In a pan, add cooking oil, add seasonings mentioned above

Now, add the cooled channa dhal, and gently saute. If you season hot channa dhal, it will become mushy.

Notes
*1 tsp of fresh lemon juice can be added, which gives a good flavour to the Sundal.
