Green gram..........aka Green moong....is known to be a super food for weight loss.It is loaded with Vitamins A, B, C and E and also has many minerals including iron, calcium and potassium. It helps to lower cholesterol and hence is good for heart, keeps the blood sugar levels under control, and it is anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and an excellent anti oxidant.
Ingredients
Gren gram - 3/4 cup, soaked overnight, and pressure cooked
Salt to taste
To season
Cooking oil - 2 tsps
Hing powder - 1/4 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Green chillies - 3, cut into slightly big pieces
Red chillies - 2-3 broken
Fresh grated coconut - 2 tsps
Curry leaves

Serves 3-4
On top of the pressure cooked green grams, salt, coconut gratings, curry leaves and green chillies topped
In a pan, add cooking oil, season hing powder, mustard seeds, red chillies....
also add the green chillies and curry leaves, saute for 5 minutes, and then....
Now add the cooked grams along with salt, mix well, and switch off.
It proves to be an ideal snack too, for kids who come back from school hungry!
